Nike Kobe VIII(8)

Nike's newest basketball shoes Nike Kobe VIIIAs with every shoe since the Kobe IV, the Kobe VIII sticks to the low top design with a similar silhouette as previous models. The Kobe VIII appears to have a full synthetic upper on top of the Zoom Air cushioned sole. At the head of the Kobe 8 System project was Nike Performance Footwear Creative Director Eric Avar, who worked closely with his team and Kobe himself. Kobe requested a shoe that acts as an extension of his foot, complimenting quick performance while staying low to the ground.

We’ve seen a plethora of Nike Kobe 8 colorways release in 2013. On that long list is this pair, which has landed at various Nike Basketball shops. The sneaker takes on its usual camouflage print, donning several shades of grey. Contrasting the look are vibrant volt-colored tones, which can be seen on the Nike swoosh

Nike Lebron James X

NIKE LEBRON X

The Nike LeBron X is the tenth in the signature line of LeBron James shoes and the fourth designed by Jason Petrie. Since Petrie took the over of the design of the LeBron James signature shoes, he has used Air Max as the primary source of cushioning. The LeBron 9 had a mixture of a Zoom Air forefoot with Max Air in the heel, but the Nike LeBron X is the first LeBron shoe to sport a full length visible Zoom Air unit. LeBron is no stranger to Zoom seeing Zoom Air from the first, Nike Air Zoom Generation, all the way to the Nike Zoom LeBron VI. Full length visible Zoom will definitely make the LeBron X stand out from the rest of the LeBron and Nike Basketball lineup.

Today we can report for the first time about the new Nike LeBron X basketball shoe, which LeBron James was wearing today at the final matchup. This year being the 10th anniversary of the collaboration between the basketball player and Nike, the shoe could not come at a better time.

Turns out the initial colorway of the Nike LeBron X Bred is not influenced by the New York Knicks or the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Hardwood Classic theme, but a fictional Superhero character. Putting the marketing aside, I’m still interested the most in the the technical improvements. Building off the innovative advances already built into the LeBron X, Nike added a number of performance enhancements: Carbon Fiberreinforced mid-foot wings for excellent lateral stability, Kevlar aramid reinforced Nike Flywire, stretch-resistant Kevlar laces, and articulated foam tongue for impact protection and lace pressure minimization. Is it enough to to take the shoe to the next level? We’ll find out very soon. The Nike LeBron XBred next month.

Charles Barkley is the latest non-Penny athlete to see his sneakers equipped with the Nike Foamposite technology. Of course calling them his sneakers is a little bit of a stretch, as the Round Mound of Rebound definitely won’t be lacing up in this pair to play any time soon. Still, they do have his name attached along with “CB” logo hits and the “Not a role model” script along the bottom. This new pair that’s popped up uses pure platinum and cyber blue, with the blue ending up particularly striking thanks to the speckle treatment.
